We are extremely disappointed to announce that in line with national Government Coronavirus (COVID-19) guidance to reduce social interaction we have decided to cancel Stockton Stages for 2020.

We appreciate this will be disappointing to many people, but hope you understand that this is the responsible thing to do.

Joes Speakeasy ‘Re-imagining The Globe’ (FREE)

Joe’s Speakeasy is a weekly gathering where memories of Teesside’s past are shared around a pub table. Led by ‘wildcat’ Mike McGrother, stories are reinterpreted into songs and enjoyed by old and young alike in an atmosphere of laughter and friendship. For one week only Joe’s Speakeasy heads into our festival marquee and with licensed bar available and an inevitable singalong Mike and his regulars invite you to tell your stories of The Globe and Stockton’s other dance halls and venues of days gone by. He plans to include some of your stories into a show, ‘Reimagining The Globe’ later in the year.

Afterwards, join Mike for a 60 minute musical guided walk to share more stories of Stockton’s night life at the very places where the town used to dance and sing! The latest in his ‘Tall Tales from a Wide Street’ sponsored by Stockton’s BID, hear history come to life in song courtesy of our very own Wild Rover and a few surprise guests. The walk will leave the High Street Marquee at 3.45pm prompt and will conclude with a sing-a-long (hippodrome style) in No. 60 at around 4.30pm. All are welcome!

To hear some of Mike’s Speakeasy songs and celebrate Teesside don’t forget to book your tickets for Raise A(nother) Glass on Saturday night. Another fantastic Stockton Stages event for all the family. (Pay What You Decide)
